My Baptism

I was baptized Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. I was the best baby there! The other babies cried a lot but I was ok for the most part. You know I don't like getting dressed or having water over my head. Other than that, I was very calm. My cousin Michelle was my godmother and my uncle John was the godfather.

Almost all my Grandmas and Grandpas were there, Uncle John, Michelle and Mommy and Daddy were all there! Wow, that's a lot of people!! Thanks so much for being there for me on my special day!

Put me in a high chair... I wanna eat!!

Today mommy and daddy decided to go out to lunch. Well, the last few times I have been hungry when they ate lunch too but they didnt feed me but at night to be sure I was ready to eat my vegetables and cereal two times a day. Mommy and daddy went to the store to pick up some more food for me and I got hungry for lunch. They put me in the high chair, so I expect to eat!! I got to eat some cereal and a whole tub of squash. No, that's not the only vegetable I have tried but it is my favorite! I have tried green beans, peas, squash and sweet potatoes for vegetables and bananas and peaches for fruits. I REALLY like eating big kid food. It's much better than just milk and it fills up my tummy!

At lunch, I wanted to hold the desert menu but daddy wouldn't let me so I grabbed his beard until he gave it to me. I don't know where I learned to do that but it made mommy and daddy laugh.

Sunday was my first mommy's day. My Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa John, Grandma Terri, Grandpa & Grandma Thomas, Great Grandma Thomas, Uncle John and I all went to the club and had a cookout. It was a lot of fun. I got to go on the big kid swing and even on the metal horsey. Mommy and Daddy bought me a sun hat and sunscreen since we were outside all day and I didn't burn at all. Mommy recorded video of the day but still has to figure out how to view it on the computer and to post it online here. Nothing she has tried has worked yet but pretty soon, hopefully.
At the end of the day, Mommy took pictures of all the mommys with their kids. She even got Grandma Thomas to take a picture with Daddy. It was a great time and I hope we are able to do it again soon!

I LOVE squash!

Mommy and Daddy decided to start introducing vegetables into my diet. I really didn't seem to like my cereal so it was really a test to see if I was ready for food yet. I did show all the signs that I was ready just wouldn't eat the cereal. Well, I love squash! It tastes so good and I can eat a full serving in one sitting. Mommy is now feeding me one full serving of a vegetable (squash this week, green beans next week), a full serving of cereal and about a tablespoon of bananas as a dessert. I eat it all and ask for more. I really like eating big kid food! I still am still nursing but Mommy is starting to give me one bottle of formula per day. I really don't know the difference! Anyways, I really like my new vegetables and can't wait to try more.

Cereal, Sleeping and Talking

Well, I have been eating cereal for about a week now and it seems to be helping me sleep a little better through the night. I'm sure you probably read that I have already slept through the night but that was only a one night thing. I like to keep Mommy on her toes. I figure, if she has one full night of sleep every couple of months or so she will be ok. I'm starting to like the cereal a little thicker and can't wait to try other foods!!
I also have started to "talk" more. I babble all the time now. It's just around the corner that I will say my first word. What will it be? Ma-ma? Da-da? Butters? Time will only tell.

I ate cereal for the first time!!

Aunt Sarah let Mommy and Daddy try some rice cereal for me since I am getting to be a big girl! It went ok for the first time. I think I got a whole spoonful down bwfore I got crabby. It was very strange to try. Before that I only had mommy's milk and a little formula! Pretty soon I'll be eating more baby food! Maybe I'll actually start sleeping through the night for once!! We'll see, though!

Our trip to Chicago Shedd Aquarium

I had such a great time at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago with Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Jim and Jonathan. There were so many fishies to see. There were HUGE ones bigger than my Daddy. Jonathan is so much fun to play with. He loved the fishies too. He tried to give them hugs and kisses but never was able to catch them! After the Aquarium we went to Navy Pier and walked around. I was sleepy, though. Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jim got hungry for dinner so we went to Ginos East for pizza. I tried sitting in a high chair but I hated it. I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet. While we were waiting for the pizza, John tried to hold my hand and play with me. He is so much fun!! Of course, both of us slept the whole way home. It was a long fun day. I can't wait until John lives here permanently and not just on vacation.

This weekend Mommy and Daddy brought me to Aunt Mary's surprise 50th birthday party at Uncle Bill's house. It was really fun but a little scary. There were a lot of people there that I never met and some that I already had. Everyone wanted to hold me and at times it was just too much action at once. I was really excited because I got to meet my Great Grandma and Grandpa Munchalfen. They live in Florida so I hadnt been able to meet them yet since they are usually so far away. We even got a couple of pictures with me, Mommy, Grandma and Great Grandma...4 generations of Munchalfen girls. Aunt Joanne and Uncle John were there too. It was the first time I met them too. Lots of new people...what a big family I have!

Fever scare

Well, I scared Mommy and Daddy on Tuesday night. When Mommy picked me up from my late nap I was hot to the touch so Daddy took my temperature. It said 100.1 and the doctor said it was ok if it were under 100.5. Grandma and Grandpa had 2 more thermometers so Daddy retested to make sure ours was correct. They read 101.8 and 101.6 so Mommy and Daddy brought me to the hospital in Streator to get checked out. When we got to the hospital they took my temp and it was 103.5 so they gave me some tylenol and did a lot of tests. They took 4 tries to take my blood and it made me VERY upset because they had to hold me down and dig around in my arm for the vein. Daddy growled at the last nurse that tried and failed. Every time I would fall asleep they would have to do another test so I was very tired after a while. After all the tests, they all came back negative so they weren't able to tell us why I had such a fever. We finally got home at 3am. I slept all day Wednesday except when Mommy fed me and when Daddy and Mommy gave me a bath. My fever would keep coming back after the medicine wore off. The doctor said we would have to go see him to do more tests if the fever hadn't stopped within a day. After sleeping all day Wednesday I was starting to feel better when Mommy and Daddy were going to sleep. I am feeling much better today. Thanks Mommy and Daddy for taking care of me when I was sick!!

We got the pictures from the photographer and one will be sending many of you. Here's the collage Mommy and Daddy had done. My picture with the pouty face came out very cute. I was very sleepy when we were there so that's why we didn't get many smiley ones. Will post more later.

My first laugh

I really like when Mommy throws me in the air and catches me! It made me laugh out loud yesterday. I never did that before!! Nothing else is new. We get our pictures back from Sears tomorrow!

Happily N'Ever After

Yesterday Mommy & Daddy brought me to see the movie "Happily N'Ever After" at the $2 theater in the Joliet mall. It was so neat. I started to get fussy before the movie started but once it was on I calmed down and watched. I saw almost the whole thing except for the little nap I took. I really liked the movie, especially the part with Rumplestilstken and the baby. If you haven't seen it yet, you should!!

My trip to Wal-mart

Today I went to Bloomington with mommy, daddy, grandma and grandpa. We had lunch at wendy's and then we went to Wal-mart it was a lot of fun. Grandma and grandpa got me a glow worm that I named glowy. It's my favorite toy. Mommy and daddy got me a leap frog piano with colors and shapes on it and it plays music, now I can learn new things with it. I had a lot of fun today and I really like playing with my new toys. I am still trying to get the glow worm to light up but I can't push hard enough yet. I almost forgot I got some new clothes today too they are really nice. Thanks mommy and daddy and grandma and grandpa for my new toys and making today a lot of fun.

My visit to Uncle Willie's house

Today Mommy and Daddy brought me to visit with Uncle Willie. I got to see a birdie for the first time and it talked to me! It was sooooo cool. Then I got to see fishies swimming around in a huge fish tank. How do they do that? They look funny. After that we went to the basement and saw what a great job Uncle Willie did finishing the floor and such. Daddy played on the pool table for a few minutes and I cheered him on. When we went back upstairs to leave there was a GIGANTIC doggie. I've never seen anything so big!! It was a very fun day.

I love my Daddy!

My first boo-boo

Today I got my first accidental boo-boo. Mommy was trying to cut my little nails and I was too excited that Daddy was there and so I was moving around a lot. I moved my hand just when Mommy was cutting my nail, accidentally cutting the tip of my finger. It hurted a real lot and bled for a few minutes but my Mommy and Daddy did a great job fixing it for me. Daddy took a circle bandaid and cut off the ends to make a baby bandaid that could fit my little finger. It feels really wierd and I've been trying to taste it but they won't let me. A few minutes after it happened, Daddy made it feel better by putting magical lotion on it. Mommy cried and told Daddy that she thought she was a bad mommy, but I still think she's the best! In fact, today all day I was Mommy's girl and really didn't want Daddy to hold me too much. Accidents happen.

Daddy found a better job!!

Today my Daddy was supposed to start working at a gas station but they called for him to start Monday instead. So he decided to look for a better job today and tomorrow. See, the gas station is in Ottawa, about 1 hour away, and the hours were 3pm-11pm. He wanted to find a better job so that he would be home at normal times when I'm awake so he went to town. Mommy was looking at the newspaper online and found a job that was just added to their advertisements and told daddy about it. He went to apply and got an interview on the spot. They offered him a job and he is sooooooooo excited... and so am I cause I get to see my daddy every night before I go to bed. Great job daddy!!
